Die Bilder sind sehr bewegt und mit der Hand aufgenommen ohne Stativ. Zehn Schrifttafeln informieren über den Inhalt und strukturieren ihn. Die ersten Szenen, denen keine Tafel vorangestellt ist, zeigen das Auto der Kuseler, das von einigen Männern umringt ist. Dann überprüft ein Mann im Sonntagszwirn den Ölstand am Auto, dessen Motorraum seitlich geöffnet ist. Drei Mädchen und zwei Jungen tanzen dann um einen Baum herum. Ein kleines Kind wäscht sich die Hände und ist auf dem Arm der Mutter zu sehen. Die nächsten Szenen zeigen einen offenen Platz in einer Stadt sowie den Rhein, auf dem ein Raddampfer mit rauchendem Schornstein fährt. Nach dem Titel ‚Fräulein Emma Haussknecht‘ sind zwei Frauen in Alltagskleidung zu sehen, die fröhlich in die Kamera lächeln. Die Aufnahmen zeigen nicht den Arbeitsalltag, sondern das Familienleben an Sonn- und Feiertagen sowie den Besuch der Verwandtschaft aus Kusel. So sind beide Familien immer gut gekleidet. Hinzu kommt die Tatsache, dass es sich bei den gezeigten Aktivitäten allesamt um Freizeitaktivitäten handelt: Spaziergänge, Ausflüge, Tischtennisspiel und das Spielen eines Instrumentes. Die Familie konnte diesen Beschäftigungen nur in ihrer Freizeit nachgehen. Natürlich kann auch der Einfluss der Kamera selbst eine Rolle gespielt haben. Darum kann die festliche Kleidung auf die Gegenwärtigkeit der Kamera zurückzuführen sein. Interessant zu beobachten ist der Radius, in welchem sich die Familie bewegt. Während einige Aufnahmen im Heimatort entstanden sind, ist die Insel Flotzgrün ungefähr acht Kilometer von Schwegenheim entfernt und das Schloss Heidelberg etwa 50 Kilometer. Die im Zug der Rheinbegradigung künstlich geschaffene Insel umfasst etwa 340 Hektar, die landwirtschaftlich und bei Hochwasser als Polder genutzt wird. Seit 1966 betreibt BASF auf etwa 80 Hektar eine Deponie von BASF, auf der Bauschutt und giftige Produktionsrückstände ablagert werden.
